I’ve been an artist my entire life. My first inspiration was from my father, who was a darn fine painter. His training at the Cleveland Institute of Art post WWII served him well but the financial pressures of raising a family derailed his promising art career for something more practical. When the time came, I too attended the CIA on Saturdays during high school and was extremely intimidated sitting next to college-age students who could draw circles around me. The experience of seeing that incredible work being done never left my psyche and despite trying to ditch this for the rest of my life for something more practical too, I keep coming back to painting. A career as a creative director has financially sustained me while continued studies in Europe and at home has driven me to try and find my “style” as a painter.
Derek Moore lives near Chicago and works as a “creative” in the world of advertising and marketing but has always worked at being an artist. Studying printmaking and graphic design at Wichita State University in Kansas and graphic design and illustration at Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California, he was recruited while still a student to work first as a designer and later as an advertising art director. Having worked in the advertising industry for more than 35 years, he continues to pursue his original creative passion as an artist in multiple mediums including photography, drawing, painting, and digital printmaking.

Phil has painted most of his life and has work in private collections around the world and has shown in many states. He is thrilled to work alongside a great group of Admen, especially 4 art directors agreeing on one font choice. “That is a miracle
